Money Talks
A lot of things have to change, like, now. I can’t afford to wait any longer. My health and happiness deteriorate as my bank account depletes itself of funds. I refuse to let finances consume the majority of my day’s thoughts. I need more than a tight budget. I need to change my lifestyle. I need to buy and consume less and feel complete and whole with the things I already own.
I want what I want and what I need to be the same.
1. Shopping will be replaced with arts and crafts.
I can save money by using things around my house to create and decorate as opposed to spending and wasting by shoving more price tagged shit into my closet.
2. I need to write my hit fucking novel, already.
I can save money on gas and “going out,” by writing my hit novel………………… all-fucking-ready. Seriously, I need to get some writing done because I’m starting to forget all of those ideas I promised myself I’d get back to….
3. If I absolutely need to buy clothes, I will look at a second hand store and Ross/Marshall’s/TJ MAXX first.
I’m so over buying clothes. I’ve noticed that I tend to drop mad cash for tops that I’ll wear no more than 4 times in a year. Not only that, but I always end up wearing solid color v necks and accessorize them with cardigans or long necklaces, so wtf? I’m not throwing my sense of fashion out of the window, I’m just embracing minimalist fashion.
4. I already don’t buy coffee or eat out and I will continue to make my own coffee and cook/take food from home with me everywhere I go.
This saves me tons of money. I’m also proud of myself for quitting smoking. That too saves me money. Now, if only I could cut out certain products from my life…that would be great.
5. I’m cutting back on out of town trips this year. If friends miss me, they can come visit me.
I miss Los Angeles. But frankly, I miss having a large amount of cash in my savings account even more. I love all of my friends and acquaintances, but I refuse to force visits or let them be one sided. If this means no one will visit me, then so be it. It’s a good thing I live with 2 awesome dogs and my best friend and lover, Bryan.
6. No more casinos. Don’t ask.
7. $60.00 per pay period must stay in my Christmas savings account, and $40.00 must stay in my regular savings account.
I need to start somewhere. Setting money aside will definitely help me save and once I see my little pot grow, it’ll inspire less spending.
8. Buy in bulk. I’m too poor to be an ethical consumer.
Wal Mart, Costco and Sam’s Club, I’m embracing you.
9. Walk more, drive less.
Walks are healthy, stress burners and whimsical. I love them. I need more walks in my life.
10. If I get bored, I will go out for long walks.
